I completed my BHSc in Acupuncture at the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine and am a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council.
After completing my studies, I was privileged to work at the New Zealand Earthquake Recovery Centre after the major Christchurch Earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, where I treated many patients for shock, stress and anxiety as well as physical trauma. This rewarding experience helped many patients in their recovery and gave me a real understanding of what shock and trauma can do to the body, both physically and emotionally. I fully experienced the power of acupuncture to release that trauma and allow people to move forwards and feel stronger and more confident than before.
I spent 6 months on the beautiful Island of Antigua at the Caribbean Holistic Institute alongside Chiropractors and other healthcare professionals treating a wide range of injuries and musculoskeletal disorders from general aches and pains to sports injuries and post-op recovery.
I have a special interest in treating womens health and fertility. This is an amazing area of healthcare where acupuncture can offer so much. Traditional Chinese medicine has a unique perspective and diagnosis that can really support and treat all sorts of womens’ health issues from painful or irregular menstrual cycles to infertility and pregnancy. I really love working with fertility and with more and more research into acupuncture treatments for natural fertility and IVF support it’s an expanding and fascinating area of healthcare.
